Rock Art and Singing in the Sky

Our solar system, and the stars and solar systems in all galaxies, are in a state of constant change. Space is not empty, and it appears our place in the cosmos was born out of universal chaos.

Star formation is an event of super-charged electricity forced into a condition leading to a violent formation of charged plasma left “sizzling” in space with no immediate “grounding mechanism.” Ultimately, what is left is somewhat like our description of ball lightning. Could the explanation of a star forming in space be as simple as ball lightning forming on earth during intense thunderstorms? Knowledge of star formation requires understanding a Birkeland Current Z-pinch phenomena in space in which a star is born, and it is the simplest answer.

The “stars” of our solar performance are the asteroids and comets, the asteroids serving as the chorus line around the sun, and on occasion, the comets present themselves on stage in their dramatic entrance with their glowing faces and plume-like tails stretching out across the heavens. This cosmic play, of which we are the audience, could be labeled a tragedy.

All was not well from the beginning as all stars form out of chaos. Our sun is no exception. The outdated, Accretion Theory of star formation, bears Angular-Momentum scrutiny. How could it be, that our solar system has an area around the sun (the hammered bracelet of heaven) swarming with rocky bodies obviously formed by collision? The simplest answer appears to be collision, and the principle of Occum’s Razor tells us the simplest model is the one that should be chosen. This was not a primordial-accretion event, but a traumatic event occurring after planet formation.

Foregoing a detailed rendition of star and planet formation, my subject here is asteroids and comets, and one other character in the cosmic performance. This character is the observer – the human character that leads us into the almost magical aspects of Native American rock art and its relationship to certain rock art found around the globe. Surprisingly, this recorded rock art is intimately connected to asteroids and comets. (See illustrations)

Humans living thousands of years ago had a propensity to record important events; the same as today’s high tech society. It’s a requirement for science and history. But the events had to be recorded by pecking images in hard stone. Some of their “events” appear mundane and are obviously connected to personal and group activities such as births, ritual, and ceremony. However, all around the globe, images carved in stone by prehistoric people have been duly noted, connected, and categorized in a distinctive class involving several cosmic events.

A close encounter or impact of earth by comets or asteroids would certainly change earth’s physical and atmospheric environment. The tail of the asteroids streaking and burning out across the sky in seconds, and the distinctive tails of comets that lingered in the heavens for days, were disturbing enough to early humans, but the more impressive, and fearful, overcharged-atmosphere of earth would be much more serious and produce plasma –discharge images in the sky - misunderstood and feared by humans, who would attempt to remember and record such events in stone.

“Images appeared, never before seen. They danced in the gloom of night and in the daytime sun, undulating in brightness and shape. Differing forms appeared in the sky, with elongated bodies and many legs, like the crawling creatures on earth, and at times, they would sing and chant. Their bodies would distort and crumble, then, stick men appeared – long and tall, suddenly changing to short figures with distorted heads. Their legs and arms, nervous, like lightning bolts of the storm, would scatter across the heavens – connect to other stick men, and the glowing spirals that appeared with them. Surely these frightful beings of the sky were not friendly. Something slumbering in the vaults of heaven had been loosed.”

A severe Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) 1. or an event created by earths close encounter with any large planetary body, would certainly disturb the electrical balance between the earth and the sun, thus causing strange, unfamiliar images to appear in earth’s atmosphere. Another dramatic catalyst   causing a severe energy imbalance in earth’s magnetosphere 2. Would be a cosmic dust (plasma) cloud penetrating the sun’s heliopause 3., impacting it, and disrupting the normal flow of energy to earth. Such an event could increase the sun’s energy output, and produce severe CMEs. Such an energy outburst would produce electrical discharge images in earth’s sky.

Asteroid, comet, and plasma-inspired rock art appears to be a strange mix within Native American rock art. Very few academics in the field of archaeology and anthropology would connect certain plasma-inspired petroglyphs to the social activities of more ancient humans, and very few astrophysicists would connect their cosmic pursuits to Native American rock art. Some of this “certain” rock art exists in the Winnemucca Lake Subbasin area of Nevada, and has been dated to over 10,000 years ago. Thousands of other related rock art images have been documented around the globe. A few of these images are illustrated here, with their location and noted individuals, from whose photographs they were taken. It would be virtually impossible for one individual to personally collect such evidence. I certainly appreciate their help and contribution.

Ice core data and lunar soil samples indicate a large ejection of solar material or a huge concentration of charged dust (plasma 4.) penetrated and impacted earth’s magnetic field some 13,000 years ago. This coincides with the Clovis culture extinction period in southwestern North America.

All of the following images have been collected from around the world. They represent a visual phenomenon experienced by the observing “artist” who had the curiosity and ability to record their configurations on stone. To have such a dispersed global distribution of very similar images over such a long period of time is a convincing indication that they were observed in the sky, and not by social contact. Severe coronal mass ejections create social change in humanity. Such events create migrations, suppresses populations, and annihilate cultures.

Some visitors to this site may think it strange when reading my beliefs about star formation and other matters of cosmic nature. If there is current in space (which is true) then we live in an electric universe. All planets and stars exist in an electrical environment, therefore, human conditions and events must co-exist with the changing characteristics of the energy-charged space through which the earth travels. I encourage anyone unfamiliar with the basics of electrical laws of physics to study the information in two referenced books. They present basic information easily understood: Donald E. Scott, Ph.D. The Electric Sky. Mikamar Publishing. Portland, Oregon. 2006  And: Thornhill, Wallace, and Talbott, David. The Electric Universe. Mikamar Publishing. Portland, Oregon. 2007

The following images have been collected from around the world.  It would have been impossible for me to personally ferret out such a collection of widely dispersed visuals. My interest was stimulated by several petroglyphs in Kentucky where I live – the Red River Gorge area and Powell County, about 50 miles southeast of Lexington and the Bluegrass Region. I hope proper and accurate credit has been given those who contributed to this work. By locating the number with each image, reference will describe the same number in the following text.

1.    CORONAL MASS EJECTION (CME) – Solar mass ejection. Charged ions, a plasma (a form of matter) ejected by the sun that, if severe enough, could disrupt earth’s power grids and be life threatening. A CME is commonly called “solar wind,” but this is a misnomer. There is no wind, as we know on earth, in space. This “wind” is charged ions and a form of matter.

2.    “A large scale solar flare or coronal mass ejection (CME) could become magnetically trapped in the earth’s magnetosphere. The magnetosphere would then hold on to this fireball of radiation like a thermos bottle, allowing the moon and earth to be exposed for a duration of time long enough to ‘flash bake’ their surfaces.” Excerpt from Paul LaVolettes’ 1983 Ph.D. dissertation, “Galactic Explosion Cosmic Dust Invasions, and Climate Change.”

3.        HELIOPAUSE  – The boundary between the suns output of ions (electric current, commonly called the solar wind) and the interstellar medium. The point where particles of the solar wind join with the spent solar winds of all the other stars in our galaxy. A protective egg-shaped bubble, or shield of sorts, surrounds the sun – about 11 billion miles from earth.

4.    PLASMA is considered a fourth form of matter (the others being solid, liquid, and gas) containing charged particles. It responds strongly to electromagnetic fields, has properties unlike those of solids, liquids, or gases, and is considered a distinct form of matter.
